Art on the Street

Art on the Street CIC is an award-winning social enterprise committed to providing affordable opportunities for artists, whilst removing restrictions for those least able to visit a gallery or museum and challenging the environments in which it is accepted to view and buy art. Art on the Street breathes new life into Maidenhead Town Centre twice a year by bringing together over 100 visual artists from all over the country selling their work to a backdrop of performances, live music, street food and workshops. The June 2013 event took footfall in Maidenhead High Street from it's usual 21,000 to well over 40,000. Artusts queue for hours to secure a pitch at the events.

Admission for visitors is FREE. Artists are charged a subsidised booking fee to take part. See www.artonthestreet.org.uk for more details. Art on the Street is the only CIC to hold an elected membership to the Fine Art Trade Guild (a network of over 300 professional galleries) and is the main sponsor of the Berkshire Artists Network. In between events Art on the Street is actively involved in project work including affordable artspaces, public art and pop-up shops, as well as fielding news and opportunities to a network of hundreds of artists.
