The guitarist/composer plays and introduces his compositions within the forms of the great tradition of flamenco.
His unique sound has been honed through a lifetime of concerts and recordings. He has also performed with legends of song and dance, including Rafael Romero and Eva la Yerbabuena.
He has recorded 20 albums and published 17 books. He appeared in a Spanish film at the age of 17 and has since made three films with his flamenco dance company.
Voted into the top three flamenco guitarists in the world by Guitar Player USA, Juan Martín has toured globally. He has performed in cities including Shanghai, Melbourne, and New York, as well as at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Critics have compared his compositional talent to Albéniz, Turina, and Tárrega. He also performed for Picasso’s 90th birthday celebrations.
His guitar method books are now translated into many languages. His original book is often referred to as “the bible” of flamenco guitar.
