Maidenhead Operatic Society (MOS) was formed in 1950. We present one or two shows a year at various local venues including Norden Farm, Bourne End Community Centre and The Desborough Theatre. Our repertoire is very wide ranging; from Gilbert and Sullivan and other English and European operettas, to both classic and contemporary musicals, particularly those that have an interesting or challenging musical content.
Rehearsals take place in Taplow Village Hall on Thursday evenings at 7.45 – 10.00pm, and it is customary to adjourn to the local pub afterwards! Principals, selected through an open audition process, also rehearse in Taplow on Tuesday evenings at 8.00 – 10.00pm.
While we have a core of established members, we are especially pleased when new members join us and believe they are soon made to feel at home as new friendships are formed. Our Fun For a Fiver programme provides members with the opportunity to enjoy a variety of social events, such as skittles, quizzes, tap dancing, etc., and families and friends are welcome to join in these events too.
